What's Happening in Ottawa?
What's interesting about the FIT camp for teenage girls in the summer is that the guys are livid because it gives an unfair advantage to the girls. As they see it, the girls get more "help". Ridiculous, but you know how competitive it is. Guys try for a decade to get hired and don't have anything like this for them. The smarter guys have a better understanding of the point of the camp...to expose young girls to the possibilities of entering a male-dominated career...not just firefighting.
